AUDIO PAINTINGS

Music by Sergio Bolaños Aguilar

Since its opening, our gallery has been interested in supporting new coming artists.

On this occasion, we are glad to present the musical work of Sergio Bolaños Aguilar.

Inspired by some of our paintings, Sergio took on the task of creating their musical alter ego in form of Audio Paintings.

In his Audio Paintings, Sergio translated the feelings aroused by our paintings into music.

This musical experiment shows the fusion of two different forms of art that have always complemented each other — painting and music.

We are proud to present the Audio Paintings inspired by our works of art and hope that you enjoy this musical experiment as much as we do.

**The purchase of a painting includes its corresponding musical alter ego.

José Manuel Ciria

This piece is based in pizzicati and tremolando in an attempt to recall a circle and a journey. Several things happen musically; the harmony and dynamics change while the pizzicati stay ostinato, like in moto perpetuo. (S.B.A)

I love how the master shows the light in the leaves in this painting and how it passes through the transparent glass. I also love the colours acting like a representation of life and death,a contrast of light and darkness. The music inspired by this painting uses a ricochet (a virtuoso violin bow stroke) to achieve a bright sound and a sensation of eternity and fullness. A solo violin balances low and high frequencies in a beautiful manner. The piece goes crescendo as the harmony become more complex just before it starts to disolve into a lighter atmosphere. In the climax of the piece, an unanticipated melody is introduced as an ephemeral intervention that brings brightness and vigour that suddenly disappear in a gracefully way. At the end, the piece starts decreasing and dies in a smooth fourth interval. (S.B.A)
